Abril Rodríguez was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and lived more than 20 years in the Tijuana-San Diego region, which is why she is familiar with cross-border cultures.

A communications scientist by profession, she has worked for several research centers of the Mexican Council of Science and Technology, and as an advisor to the Migration Commissioner in Mexico, where she has mainly worked as an expert in institutional communication.

April enjoys writing short stories

She has also found the time to teach at various universities. In 2012 she completed the Master in Social Studies of Science and Technology at the University of Salamanca, Spain, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Sociology from the University of York.

In her free time, April enjoys reading, going for a walk, having coffee with friends, watching movies, and writing short stories.
